Blood Donation To Apeksha Hospital

A blood donation program for Apeksha Hospital was organized by our Lions Club involving students from Eurasian University.This program was implemented within the blood bank of Apeksha Hospital.We also arranged to provide food for those who came to donate blood.students from Eurasian University came to our aid.The food was fully sponsored by Lion Meegolla Lion Shamani and Lion Nalin.

Under the project theme “Akurata Saviyak” initiated by the newly appointed District Governor of 306 D2, Lion Priyantha Perera, a successful donation campaign was launched to support 200 schoolchildren with school bags. The event was graced by Chief Guest District Governor Lion Priyantha Perera and First Lion Lady Dushanthi Gomas, along with the presence of Past District Governors Lion Asanga Samaraekara and Lion Ajith Liyanage. Also in attendance were Regional Cabinet Chairperson Lion Gamini Walganpaya, Zone Cabinet Chairperson Lion Pradeep Amarathunga, and Main Cabinet Officers Lion Melroy Jayasinghe, Lion Devduni Shyamen, and Lion Sajeewa Prasanna. The event also acknowledged the contributions of Immediate Past President Lion Sarath Dharmasiri, whose continued support has been instrumental in the club’s community service efforts.

Lions of L/C of Raigampurawaraya have treated with fish bun and tea about 75 elders who take their elders allowance at Post Office Bandaragama on 18th of July morning. 2nd VDG Lion Palitha Wije Gunawardhana, Zone chairman Lion Pradeep Amarathunga, Lion Wasantha club president and Lion Menike were participated the project.

Lions club of Raigampurawaraya successfully organized a tree planting project at WP /HO /Pathahawatta Sri Swarnajothi Maha Vidyalaya, Bandaragama on 1st of July 2025 in celebration of the beginning of the new lionistic year 2025 /2026. President Lion Wasantha Jayawardane, Zone chairman Lion Pradeep Amarathunga, Lion Dr Dinesh, Mrs. Maneshi Harshani the principal of the school, Mr. Thusitha Amarasena Vice Principal of the school, Mrs. Kokila Kularathna Agriculture ISA of Zonal Education office, Horana participated of the event. On the occasion of International Teachers' Day, our Lions Club organized a function to present gifts to seven teachers including the Principal of Stanley Thilakaran Vidyalaya, Kudamulla. The children also performed a Guru Vandana. This programme was organized by the Lions Club of Colombo Kalubowila.

In conjunction with the Akurata Saviyak program, the Lions Club of Colombo Kalubowila, in collaboration with the Lake House, has prepared arrangements to provide the "සිළුමිණ" newspaper to Sri Jayewardenepura Maha Vidyalaya weekly for a year. The inaugural ceremony was held at the school recently under the patronage of the principal.

Astronomy is a subject that students in every school are eager to learn these days. from This kind of services we provide to schools like this, directly affect the development of the knowledge of school students. 10 school children and 25 school teachers of Ingiriya central college ( Gourment School) were selected and given proper training about astronomy and astronomical club was established. For this, eight instructors from the ehaliyagoda central collage astronomical club and one lecture frim United nation association of sri lanka participated and they conducted the training. At the end of the training, all the students were given a recognized certificate.

Lions Club of Arawwala – Hunger Project Program The Lions Club of Arawwala, under the leadership of Club President and Project Chairperson Lion Prasadith Padmakumara (LCIF District Coordinator – “Akurata Saviya” Project) and Co-Project Chairperson Lion Chandrika Wijesooriya, successfully conducted this noble initiative in the Balangoda – Waligepola area, benefiting over 300 underprivileged and special needs children. As part of the program, a lunch meal consisting of sweet potatoes and coconut sambol served in kadakola leaves was provided for more than 350 students, 300 parents, and school staff and organizing committee members, bringing the total number of participants to around 750. Conducted under the Hunger Relief theme, this event was a remarkable success, reflecting the true spirit of service and compassion. A session on mental health and well-being in the community was conducted on 12th October 2025 at Sri Panghananda Sunday School, Polgasowita, as part of the Service Week activities held from 4th to 12th October 2025. The session was facilitated by Lion Samini Dias, a counselor with a diploma in psychology and a member of the Lions Club of Kalubowila. Around 50 teenagers participated in the session, which focused on raising awareness and promoting mental wellness among youth. The event was also graced by the presence of LCI District Chairperson - Marketing ,Lion Devduni, who supported the initiative.

We, the Lions Club of Weedagama in District 306D2 celebrated World Children's Day with WP/HO Samaranayake Primary School, Mahabellana, Western Province, Sri Lanka on 01.10.2025. This limited facility primary school has small number of children and they were provided a special lunch and gift parcels on that day.
