Based on findings reported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it is estimated that for every tree planted and properly maintained, four people benefit—highlighting the significant social and environmental impact of sustained tree‑planting initiatives. In alignment with this global perspective, we successfully launched a Tree Planting Project at Mayadunna Maha Vidyalaya, Hanwella, through which 500 food‑generating plants were donated to schoolchildren to be planted within the school premises. This initiative promotes environmental stewardship at the community level while enhancing students’ sense of social responsibility. |

This initiative significantly enhanced the school’s green environment, improved its aesthetic appeal, and fostered a culture of environmental responsibility among students by transforming the campus into a greener, healthier learning space. |
