The second program, "Noya yuthu Thana," was successfully conducted under the leadership of Loin Meegolla. The program was led by Lion Jagath Weerasinghe, DG of Lion District 306D8. Five hundred students and teachers of Sri Mahinda Maha Vidyalaya, Eheliyagoda, were also involved in the program.

The project was led by Project Chairman Lion Sarath Dharmasiri, with the school bags donated to selected Lions Clubs within District 306 D2.

This sustained initiative ensures that the facility’s 100+ residents consistently benefit from a sanitized, safe, and dignified living environment.

Based on findings reported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it is estimated that for every tree planted and properly maintained, four people benefit—highlighting the significant social and environmental impact of sustained tree‑planting initiatives. In alignment with this global perspective, we successfully launched a Tree Planting Project at Mayadunna Maha Vidyalaya, Hanwella, through which 500 food‑generating plants were donated to schoolchildren to be planted within the school premises. This initiative promotes environmental stewardship at the community level while enhancing students’ sense of social responsibility.

Based on findings reported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it is estimated that four people benefit for every tree planted and properly maintained, highlighting the significant social and environmental impact of sustained tree‑planting initiatives. In alignment with this global insight, we successfully launched a Tree Planting Project at Ananda Samarakoon College, Wewala, under a national‑level initiative. Through this project, a total of 1,150 trees were planted across the village premises, contributing meaningfully to environmental sustainability and community well‑being.

In alignment with this global outlook, we successfully implemented a Tree Planting Project at Sri John Kotelawala Maha Vidyalaya, through which 530 plants and seeds were donated and planted within the school premises. This initiative significantly enhanced the school’s green environment, improved its aesthetic appeal, and fostered a culture of environmental responsibility among students by transforming the campus into a greener, healthier learning space.
