මැණික් සම්පත බහුලව ලැබෙන ඉංගිරිය ප්රදේශයේ පදිංචි, ගාමිණී මද්ය විද්යාලයේ ඉගෙනුම ලබන සිසුන් වෙනුවෙන් මැණික් කර්මාන්තය ආශ්රිත ව්යවසායකයින් බිහිකිරීම අරමුණු කොටගෙන සිව් මාසික රත්නවිද්යා සහතිකපත් පාඨමාලාවක් සිදුකෙරිණි. එමගින් සිසුන්ගේ දැනුම වර්ධනය කොට ප්රදේශයේ හමුවන මැණික් සම්පත පිළිබඳ නිසි අවබෝධයක් ලබාදීම හා එමගින් කර්මාන්තයේ නිරත ඔවුන්ගේ දෙමාපියන්ටත් නිසි දැනුම සිසුන් හරහා බෙදාදීම හා සිසුන්හට ව්යවසායකයින් වීමේ අවස්ථාවන් හා අභිලාෂයන් නිර්මාණය කිරීම මෙහි අරමුණ වේ. සිංහාධිපතිතුමන්ගේ උපදෙස් මත හොරණ මිඩ්සිටි සිංහ සමාජයේ අනුග්රහය මගින් විදුහල්පතිතුමන්ගේ අදීක්ෂනය යටතේ කමිටුවක් පත්කොට මාස හතරක් සිසුන් 600 ක් වෙනුවෙන් පැවැති මෙම පාඨමාලාව අවසානයේ න්යායාත්මක හා ප්රායෝගික විභාගයක් සිදුකොට දක්ෂතම සිසුන් 15 ක් තොරා ඔවුන්ව ඇගයික්මට පත් කලේය. රත්නවිද්යා උපදේශකයන් , රත්නවිද්යා පරේෂකයින් , රසායන විද්යා ගුරුවරුන් , පාෂාණ හා ඛනිජ විද්යා උපදේශකයන් , භූ විද්යා පරේෂ්කයින් ඇතුළු විද්වත් මඩුල්ලක් විසින් මෙම පාඨමාලාව මෙහෙයවන ලදී. |
