Completion of “Clean Up Sri Lanka” Project

On 18.10.2025, 30 pregnant mothers were provided with children's clothes, other necessary items and dry rations at the Walallawita Divisional Secretariat. A light meal was also provided to all the participating mothers. All expenses were borne by the project chairman, Sinha Chitra Dassanayake.

This community service project was conducted at the request of Multiple District 306, aligning with the Lions’ global cause of environmental protection and community well-being. The initiative brought together a wide cross-section of the community — including officers of the Piliyandala Police, members of the Urban Council, and local residents, who actively participated in cleaning and beautifying the area. The session focused on the prevention of diabetes and the importance of cultivating healthy habits among young people to ensure a healthier future generation. The program emphasized nutrition, physical activity, mental well-being, and early detection of lifestyle diseases.
