World Children’s Day and Elders’ Day 01st October 2025 At Makuluduwa Model School Let’s work together… Let’s stand up for our own… ???? A delicious and nutritious lunch meal was served to 600 participants, including 440 children. In addition, the elders from the Boralesgamuwa Karuna Elders’ Home were brought to the school by our vehicles, where they were treated to a special meal and presented with dry ration packs, towels, bed sheets, and other gifts. For the children, a series of fun games and activities were organized, followed by a DJ music session to bring joy and laughter to their faces. We are truly grateful to have had the participation of our chief guest, Lion Sunethra Thantirivatte, the First Vice District Governor of Lions International District 306 D2, along with Region Chairperson Lion Sarath Kumara, Region Chairperson Lion Upul Indika Siriwardena, Lion Heshini Thilanka, and many others who contributed to making this meaningful event a great success.

One Nimal Edirisinghe, a diabetic & kidney patient has requested financial assistance from us long year ago and Lion Indika Rajapakshe of our club gave his consent to donate funds monthly to his account. Since then, Rs.5000/- is being made to his account through our project account maintained at BOC.

P. Sugiethma Jayathilaka whose father lost few years ago, is a student of Horana Taxila College, Western Province. She qualified for the AL last year and requested financial assistance for her studies . We communicated with Mr Ruchira Bandara and he agreed to give his hands to that student and since December 2024 he injected funds to Sugithma's mothers account through our project account.

Under the guidance of Multiple District 306, we planted 100 Arjun trees (Kumbuk) and Madhuca trees (Mee) on the reservation area of a river at Nambapana, Ingiriya, Western Province. This is the first and the main project of lionistc year 2025/26 of 306D2 District Governor and tree planting progrmme scheduled on 1st July 2025. District Governor also participated for the event. Also 5 budded fruit plants were donated to 5 schools nearby in the area to be planted in school premises.

"On 3rd August 2025, under the project chairmanship of Lion Prasad Jayathilaka, the Indira Trust Cancer Foundation successfully organized a Relaxing Music Therapy session aimed at promoting the mental well-being of 40 children and their parents. Musical contributions were made by Lion Danuka, Lion Sarangi, Lion Kokila, Little Miss Yusali, and Lion Lakmali, who performed songs.
