“Akurata Saviyak” – Lions Club 306 D2 - 404 School Bags Donated to Selective Lions Clubs

Under the project theme “Akurata Saviyak”, initiated by District Governor Lion Priyantha Perera of District 306 D2, a donation campaign was organized to support the One Child – One Bag initiative. The entire contribution for this project was undertaken by Cabinet Chair Person Lion Sarath Dharmasiri MJF. On 30th September 2025, the following 404 of school bags were donated to 4 lions clubs for their respective community service projects:(Letter attached)

Mental health and well-being project

Under the theme of Mental health & well-being, the Horana West Lions Club organized a meaningful lecture on how to maintain mental well-being and mental satisfaction for 150 children of the Ratmalgoda Sri Dheerananda Dhamma School by Venerable Yatiyana Gnanavimala Thero and veteran preacher K. M. U. R. Bandara.

Providing free vaccinations to animals to prevent rabies

To mark World Rabies Day, MD 306 Lion International and the Sri Lanka Veterinary Assistants Association jointly organized free vaccinations for animals to prevent rabies. For this, all expenses were borne by the Gonapola Lions Club of 306 D2 and Happy Pet Hospital, with Sinha Binura Eranda, a member of the Gonapola Lions Club, as the project chairman. Sponsorship for the vaccinations is provided by the Sri Lanka Veterinary Assistants Association.
