Idea Generation Session for Young Inventors – Vidyadeepa Vidyalaya, Mattegoda An Idea Generation Session for 125 young inventors of Vidyadeepa Vidyalaya was successfully conducted under the guidance of Lion Eng. Jayavilal Meegoda, President of the Lions Club of Polgasowita and International Fair Director and Engineering undergraduates of Sri Jayawardanepura University. During the session, students presented their initial invention concepts and received constructive guidance on how to systematically develop their projects. Mentors emphasized the importance of commencing with a proper literature review, understanding existing technologies, and identifying research gaps prior to moving into design and experimentation stages. Students were also made aware of the necessity of obtaining ethical clearances where applicable, particularly for projects involving human participation, environmental considerations, or data collection. |

27/03/2026 We, the members of the Arawwala Lions Club, are happy to announce the successful completion of a project organized in line with International Women’s Day. ❤️ Through this initiative, we distributed women’s undergarments (three items each) to nearly 300 schoolgirls from Bokundara Mahinda Vidyalaya and Makuluduwa Model School. For this occasion, the District Governor of Lions District 306 D2 attended as the Chief Guest, along with the First Lady Lion. A 16-year-old boy from the Piliyandala area, who recently sat for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination, is currently undergoing treatment for an incurable illness. His greatest passion is music. To support and fulfill his wish, I visited his home today (24.03.2026) and donated a brand-new JBL speaker. Although his illness is said to be incurable, we sincerely pray that he will soon be blessed with good health, strength, and a long life, and that he may find both physical and mental well-being and live a happy life.
