By lions Club of POLGASOWITA on 2026-04-21
Project Chairman : Jayaratna Manamperi

Although the establishment of invention clubs in every school has been mandated by government directive, Girls' High School Mount Lavinia had not yet implemented this initiative. To address this gap, an Inventors’ Club was successfully established, office bearers were appointed, and the club was formally recognized—thereby strengthening student engagement in innovation and supporting Youth Development and Education & Literacy in line with Lions’ global causes. The establishment of the Inventors’ Club is highly significant, as it provides a structured platform for students to explore creativity, develop problem-solving skills, and transform ideas into practical innovations. It nurtures critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership while exposing students to emerging technologies and scientific inquiry. Furthermore, the club encourages a culture of curiosity and continuous learning, empowering young minds to become future innovators and contributors to national development.

This milestone strengthens student engagement in innovation while contributing to Youth Development and Education & Literacy, in alignment with Lions Clubs International’s global causes.Students were encouraged to submit their invention concepts by the end of April. These concepts will be further developed and refined, enabling students to participate in the Invention & Robotics Competition organized by the Ministry of Education Sri Lanka.
