Our Lions Club, in collaboration with Derana Laboratories, conducted a diabetes clinic at the site, where we supported research activities for over 250 patients.Laboratory tests and medical consultations were provided free of charge to our patients.Our Lions Club provided an amount of Rs. 15,000 for the laboratory testing equipment for that project and Rs. 6,000 for printing a file cover to be given to those patients. Our Kalubowila Leo Lions Club also joined this project.

Vision to Shepard girls

We had the eyesight of five girls at the Shepard girls home in Nawala tested the previous day.They stated that their vision was very poor and that they should be referred to a doctor. Accordingly, we referred them to the Kadawatha Swarna Jayanthi eye Hospital. We provided them with eyeglasses according to the prescriptions given by the doctors for the Golden Jubilee Hospital. And provided all their transportation, foods.

One Nimal Edirisinghe, a diabetic & kidney patient has requested financial assistance from us long year ago and Lion Indika Rajapakshe of our club gave his consent to donate funds monthly to his account. R M Methmi Upeksha, who is an A/L Student aged 18+ has requessted us for a financial assistance for her studies. Mr Ruchira Bandara gave his consent to assist Methmi until she finishes her A/L studies. From then, a standing order was processed and LKR 4000/- has been credited through our Project Account. P. Sugiethma Jayathilaka whose father lost few years ago, is a student of Horana Taxila College, Western Province. She qualified for the AL last year and requested financial assistance for her studies . We communicated with Mr Ruchira Bandara and he agreed to give his hands to that student and since December 2024 he injected funds to Sugithma's mothers account through our project account. This is for October 2025.

B Rasindi Anuththara Mendis is studying at WP/HO/Gungamuwa Primary School coming from a poor family. Her father has no permanent job and doing daily paid work from place to place. Mother also has no job. They requested us some financial assistance to support their daughter's education. Accordingly, we arranged a scholorship to pay tution fees etc. for this student from our club account. Principal of the school also recommended this donation. This is for October 2025.

Binula Thathsara Sampath is an under previlleged student. His father has left them and grandmother is looking after this poor child. He is styding in Grade 8 . Grand mother has requested us to give some financial assistance for the support of this child's education. We are funding Rs.3000/- every month from our Project Account. This transaction is for October 2025.

We are pleased to announce that the Leo Club of Piliyandala, in collaboration with its parent club, the Lions Club of Piliyandala, has successfully concluded the “පන්ිඳ ‘25” project a vibrant cultural and educational initiative aimed at promoting Buddhist and Sinhala literacy among youth. Held on 12th October 2025, the project was organized as a creative competition for Dhamma School students of Sri Seelanda Temple, Piliyandala. It served as a platform to celebrate spiritual learning, cultural heritage, and youth engagement, showcasing the talents and dedication of the young participants. As the official sponsor of the Leo Club of Piliyandala, the Lions Club of Piliyandala proudly contributed Rs. 6,000.00 for the printing of certificates for all participants. This gesture significantly enhanced the recognition and encouragement of these budding learners, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing future leaders.

Donated exercise books to year 5 students who have obtained highest marks at the previous prepare scholarship test held on 20.10.2025 at Thakshila central college Horana. In collaboration with the Sonic Higher education institutions Horana we organised pre prepare exam and awareness programme for year 5 students who are sitting to year 5 scholarship exam in 2026. Today we Donated exercise books to students who have obtained highest marks at the test held on 20.10.2025. Selected 54 students were given exercise books packs. Each students were given 6 exercise books of 120 pages. Each pack worth of Rs 810.00
