These children live with their paralyzed father, who is battling brain cancer, and their handicapped mother, who works at a garment factory to support the family, care for the father, and educate all three children. The Lions Club of Ballanthudawa Royal Ladies conducted “Let’s Fight Diabetes” on 12 November 2025 at the Palpola MOH Hall under the Global Causes initiative, with a sub-theme of Diabetes Awareness. Led by Project Chairperson Lion Thushari Tharanganee, the program aimed to strengthen community health by educating the public on diabetes prevention and promoting healthy habits. Participants received blood glucose and BMI checks as part of the outreach service. The project was held from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM with the participation of 6 members, supporting early detection and improved wellbeing. |
