The Lions Club of Arawwala and the Leo Club of Arawwala are currently collecting dry goods, drinking water, medicines, clothing, and essential food items to assist those affected by the floods in several parts of Sri Lanka. The collection center is located in Bokundara, A stock of essential items will be distributed among the disaster-affected families under the guidance of the Regional Chairperson of Region 01, Zone 02, together with the Lions Club of Arawwala and the Leo Club of Arawwala. Essential items for the Families affected in the village Gammanmaduwa which is the biggest affected area in the Matale district was visited with donations to 80 families. These victims were living in the Temple under the guidance of the Buddhist Priest of the village temple and coordination by the SL Army. Items like, school bags, clothes for children and elders, books, stationery, mamoty blades, jungle knives for their day to day activities, umbrellas, and 80 essential food packs were donated to 80 families under the recommendation of the Grama Sewaka. Also members visited the entire village area damaged by earth slips by the Ditwa Storm. All together 20 members including non lions and lions visited for this generous donation. |
