The Lions Club of Millaniya Golden Jubilee successfully organized a Scholarship Donation Project to support three young students from a low-income family residing in Dorawatta, Millaniya. The Children are under the care of Mrs. Nirasha, a dedicated mother striving to provide a better future for her children despite financial challenges The main objective of this project was to encourage education among underprivileged children and provide them with financial assistance to continue their studies without interruption. This project reflects the Lions Club’s ongoing commitment to uplifting the education sector and supporting families in need within the Millaniya area. The Lions Club of Millaniya Golden Jubilee organized a community service project to distribute dry food packages to local authority cleaning staff. This initiative was carried out to appreciate their dedicated service in keeping the local environment clean and to support low-income families by helping them overcome food insecurity Purpose of the Project To express gratitude and appreciation to the cleaning staff who work tirelessly to maintain public cleanliness and hygiene. To assist low-income families by providing essential dry food packages to help alleviate hunger. To strengthen the relationship between the Lions Club and the local community through meaningful social service. Under the Lions District 306 D-2 service theme “Mental Health and Well-being”, the Lions Club of Millaniya Golden Jubilee, together with the Leo Club, successfully organised a pilgrimage tour on 11th October 2025. A total of 50 participants, including elders from low-income families and Buddhist female monks, joined this spiritual journey. The group visited the following sacred sites: Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya Pillewa Temple Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya Throughout the tour, participants engaged in religious activities such as Buddha pooja, meditation, and dhamma discussions, creating an atmosphere of inner peace and happiness. |

We conducted an eye examination program for five girls and a maid at the Nawala Shepard Children's Home, and were fully sponsored by the Nethroo Eye Care Optical Center Boralesgamuwa.After the eye examination, they found that all five girls' eyesight was severely impaired.
