Awareness Program for Pregnant Mothers

on 03rd July 2025, Lions Club of Colombo Wings has successfully completed our second service project which was focused on raising awareness for 100 pregnant mothers on how they can remain beautiful after pregnancy with the involvement of a renowned psychologist Dr Indumini Bandara(PhD, MBA, PGD). The project took place at MOH Wellawatte. The pregnant mothers were given 100 gifts packs along with refreshments which were sponsored by Herbalcosmetics.lk

On 1st of July 2025, Lions Club of Colombo Wings carried out a tree planting and donation program at Sri Saddharmodaya Maha Vidyalaya, Kirulapone marking a meaningful step in our commitment towards the environment stewardship and community support. As a part of our initiative, the following items were donated to support the schools home gardening and environmental educational effort. Plants Donated: 1. Tomato 2. Green Chili 3. Ladyfingers 4. Brinjol (Eggplant) 5. Nai Miris (Small Chili) 6. Kochchi (Spicy Chili) 7. Pepper Plants 8. Kathurumurunga (Sesbania) Plants 9. Under the guidance of Lion Priyantha Perera PMJF, District Governor of Lions District 306 D2, another Cleanup Sri Lanka project was successfully carried out at Dehiwala Central College. The initiative focused on reviving the school’s long-neglected herbal garden, which had once been in excellent condition but had deteriorated over time due to lack of proper maintenance. A large-scale effort was made to clean the premises and plant new herbal saplings, restoring its value for the students and the community. This project was organized under the leadership of Lion Dhammika Liyanage PMJF, PMAF of the Lions Club of Boralesgamuwa Metro, together with Lion Kanchaka Ilukwella of the Lions Club of Boralesgamuwa Business Circle, who served as Project Chairperson. n line with the guidance provided by the District Governor of Lions Club District 306 D2, a tree-planting initiative was carried out on July 1, 2025, at Bodhiraja Temple, Verahera. During this program, a total of 13 trees were planted, comprising: Mee (Madhuca longifolia) – 6 plants Kubuk (Terminalia arjuna) – 7 plants This activity was conducted to support environmental conservation efforts and enhance the green cover of the temple premises.
