Based on findings reported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it is estimated that four people benefit for every tree planted and properly maintained, highlighting the significant social and environmental impact of sustained tree‑planting initiatives. In line with this global insight, we successfully launched a Tree Planting Project at Ananda Samarakoon College – Wewala, where 50 trees were planted within the school premises. Each tree has been individually assigned to a student, fostering a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. Students will actively nurture and care for their respective trees over a three‑year period, ensuring long‑term survival and growth. To monitor sustainability and impact, an annual review will be conducted to evaluate the health and progress of each tree. As part of a structured motivation and recognition framework, students will receive tokens of appreciation annually, based on their level of commitment and the condition of their assig |
