Monthly scholarship payment to Finland Foster children was made on 27.12.2025. This is our signature project doing each and every month. Since 2004 this project is being conducted by the club. Gifts to Cancer children on Xmas day

We Lions club of Colombo West donated gifts for all the children at Indira Trust ,there were 32 patients and another 5 children who are siblings of the patients .Lion Kanchana bought , puzzles ,Tshirts, toys, pens, etc..etc..It was great to see their smiles.It was a very successful , meaningful project .We all spent a lot if time there on Xmas day to make themhappy and it made us happy too

Medical clinic for Pregnant mothers

Antenatal Medical Clinic for Expectant Mothers A special medical clinic for expectant mothers was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Jithmal Meegoda, Registrar in Gynecology at the Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya, together with Dr. Swarna Meegoda, Senior Medical Officer attached to the Teaching Hospital, Colombo South. This meaningful initiative was organized in keeping with the core values of Lionism — selfless service, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to community well-being. Adding prestige and inspiration to the event was the gracious participation of Lion Sunethra Thantiriwatta, MJF, MAF, 1st District Vice Governor, who served as the Chief Guest, and Lion Palitha Wijegunarathna, MJF, JP, 2nd District Vice Governor, who attended as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries delivered valuable and inspiring addresses to the Lions of Polgasowita and the expectant mothers, highlighting the importance of maternal health and family support.

Awareness Session for Pregnant Mothers – Antenatal Care An awareness session on Antenatal Care for Pregnant Mothers was successfully conducted at the Ambalangoda Temple, in collaboration with the Ambalangoda Elders’ Society, as part of the Lions’ ongoing commitment to maternal and child health. The programme was facilitated by Dr. Jithmal Meegoda, Registrar in Gynaecology at the Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya, with the active involvement of the Public Health Midwife (PHM) of the area. This initiative reflected the true spirit of Lionism — selfless service, compassion, and care for the well-being of the community, especially for mothers and children who represent the future of society. Adding prestige and inspiration to the event was the gracious participation of Lion Sunethra Thantiriwatta, MJF, MAF, 1st District Vice Governor, and Lion Palitha Wijegunarathna, MJF, JP, 2nd District Vice Governor.

Provision of Lunch ("BATH DANSALA" at Isipathanaramaya temple premises

Provided lunch ("BATH DANSALA ") at Isipathanaramaya temple premises on 21.12.2025. Each and every Sunday this "BATH DANSALA " IS being conducted. 21st December Sunday "BATH DANSALA " was sponsored by the lions club of Horana. Project chairperson lion PDR Ananda. Beneficiaries-1200+ (Rice 80 kg and pasta 60 kg used. Target group of the "THANSALA" is Damma school children and General public of the Area. Participation-lions 5 L/L1 none lions 20 goods Purchased list attached. Cost Rs 161128.50 Bill attached.

Provided morning snacks and milk tea to OPD patients at General Hospital Horana on 23.12.2025. Project chairperson lion Upali Thisera. Participation-lions 3 L/L1 Non Lions 10 Beneficiaries-200+ Items given to patients-200 nos Tea Bun and Banana and milk tea. 200 buns means 200 Beneficiaries. Thanking Letter mentioned the no of beneficiaries.

We conducted a program for school children grade 1 o 5 effected by the floods in Wellampitiya, Kolonnawa area at Vidyawardan Vidyalaya , We did a story telling projet, singing and gave them cakes and milk packets, drnks, bicuits, Carol singing too by guides from different schools.very effective project that made the children and parents both happy .

Participation-lions 2 non Lions 10 Beneficiaries-300+ Items given-300 nos Fish bun. 15 kg Butter cake. 3kg Milk packets. 300 Fish bun means 300+ Beneficiaries. 15 kg can be given to more than 300 peoples.

Food Donation for Ditwa Disaster Victims

1000 food packets were prepared and packed and handed over to the DG of District 306 D2 for their distribution of relevant food collecting locations to be transported to the Ditwa storm victims. Lions Club of Horana Metro was the fist club to come forward for the preparation of 1000 food packs for two days in 500 category to be distributed for the Victims.

DISTRIBUTION OF BOOKS & ACCESSORIES

We, the Lions Club of Weedagama carried out a humanitarian Project for the children who faced the disaster of Kalaoya area iwhich was severely affected and damaged by flood. They lost there all belongings even their houses and no shelters at present. Here, we provided 100 Nos School bags, 100 packs of books and other accessories, 100 Gift vouchers to buy some clothes for 100 children . PLEASE REFER ATTACHMENT

DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD, WATER & BANANAS TO THE FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS

Lion Chandima Aluthge of Lions Club of Weedagama distributed 2000 lunch packets, 2000 bottles of drinking water and 2000 bananas to the affected people by flood in Hasalaka area. Distribution was done with the help of Police personnel in the area. PLEASE REFER ATTACHMENT

PART PAYMENT OF SALARY FOR IT TEACHER

Lion Piyathilaka Dandeniya has been donating Rs.2,000/- to the School Development Society of WP/HO/Gungamuwa Primary School, Western Province, Sri Lanka, as a part payment of a salary for an IT Teacher, since there is no an IT Teacher has been recruited for the school. Lion Dandeniya and few others are contributing for this. This is for October 2025.
