Tree Planting Project

To promote environmental conservation, the Piliyandala Central Lions Club carried out a project to plant Kumbuk saplings—which contribute to ecological balance—within the premises of Mallika Maha Vidyalaya in Hiniduma, Galle; the event was conducted with the participation of the school principal, Regional Chairperson (Region 5) Yohan Dushamantha, parents, and members of the Lions Club along with their families.

District Governor Welcome Parade and Welcome Address meeting Sponsorship

Sponsorship was provided for the vehicle procession welcoming the '306 D2 District Governor'—including the design, printing, and installation of welcome banners, the creation of the backdrop for the official welcome ceremony, and the installation of roadside decorations and flags.

Multiple Project

The Lions Club of Mattegoda successfully organized a multiple service project on 23rd August 2026 at Camilla School. The project included Cancer Awareness, Diabetes Awareness, Eye Examinations, Fruit Tree Distribution, and Spectacles Distribution. A total of 17 Lion members participated, including our Zone Chairperson, Lion Muralidharan. Lion Lady Dhammika Batugedara, representing the Lions Club of Colombo Donz, also participated and successfully conducted the awareness lecture. Through this project, the Lions Club of Mattegoda was able to serve approximately 54 people from the Mattegoda area. It was a successful and meaningful community service project, contributing to the health and well-being of the local community.

Recognising the urgent need for collective action, the Lions of Sri Lanka united through the island-wide *Dengue Epidemic Eradication Programme initiated by Lions Multiple District 306, Sri Lanka* from 1st July 2026. To strengthen public awareness and encourage greater community participation, the Multiple Council Chairperson Rajitha Rodrigo PMJF PMAF and the Multiple District Environment Coordinator PDG Roshan Kanchana Yapa MJF appeared in a special interview on “Shanida Ayubowan”, broadcast on Sri Lanka Rupavahini (TV) Corporation. Donating Volleyball Accessories

The Lions Club of Horana Excellence successfully completed the donation of Volleyball accessories to the Mahaudawela Sports Club Several villagers also participated in the occasion, making the event even more meaningful. Another meaningful initiative towards promoting sports, encouraging youth, and strengthening community.

At the request of the Lions Club of Mamp, We successfully donated essential educational and hygiene supplies to the students of Battuwandara Kanishka Vidyalaya. The donation included exercise books, art books, pens, pencils, erasers, and rulers, alongside vital personal care items, including, napkins, Dettol, and first-aid plasters, to support student health and learning.

FIGHT FOR CANCER

With hearts full of compassion, we spent a deeply moving day alongside 30 courageous men and women at Shantha Sevana House Peace in Maharagama. Serving lunch and sharing a warm evening tea with the patients in this dedicated palliative care unit was about so much more than providing food—it was about offering presence, human dignity, and a gentle reminder that they are not alone. Bringing a small spark of comfort, joy, and hope to these brave individuals during such a difficult time truly touched us all.

Donation of a Stadiometer
