Donation of Foods for Didulana Diri-Daru Piayasa

August 5, 2026 "Didulana Diri Daru Piyasa," Kesbewa – a school for children with special needs. An event was held to sponsor an exhibition of handicrafts created by approximately 50 students and to distribute 100 milk packets and 100 fish buns. The project chairpersons were Lion Kokila Jayathilaka and Lion Prasad Jayathilaka of the Arawwala Lions Club. Lion Dilini Perera (member of the Arawwala Lions Club and the District Women's Committee) and Leo Vidusha Perera (President of the Arawwala Leo Club) also attended the event.

Dengue Prevention & Public Awareness Campaign

A dengue awareness and prevention campaign was successfully conducted by Lions Club of Horana West, under the leadership of president Lion J.P. Vipula. The project reached and educated approximately 500 residents in the Horana area. The event was honored by the presence of Zone Chairperson Lion Chathura Pushpakumara and Region Chairperson Lion Asanga Wijewardhana.

On August 11, 2026, Lion Kokila Jayathilaka and Prasad Jayathilaka of the Arawwala Lions Club distributed Nescafé and biscuits to 1,500 people—including patients visiting the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital for weekly treatment and their family members. This gesture is particularly significant for those who travel from distant areas to receive medical care

The Lions Club of Piliyandala also supported the annual Mihindu Perahera organized by the Shasthrodaya Pirivena, Thumbowila, Piliyandala. The 98th Mihindu Perahera was held on 25th July 2026. The Lions Club donated Rs. 75,000/-, which was collected from the members of the Lions Club of Piliyandala. The donation and the participation of the Lions Club received considerable publicity through the Chief Incumbent and the organizing committee. The project therefore contributed significantly to promoting the service activities and presence of the Lions Club of Piliyandala within the community.
