The Lions Club of Ballanthudawa Royal Ladies conducted the project “Shelter for the Needy” on 6th January 2026 at Gungamuwa Primary School, Bandaragama, under the Global Cause of Other Humanitarian Services, as part of the local initiative “Diriyata Sevanak.” This project aimed at supporting roadside self-employment by providing essential resources to improve livelihoods. A total of 19 Lion members, including 9 members from the host club, actively participated in the project. The event was graced by District Governor Lion Priyantha Perera and District First Lady Lion Dushanthi Gomez as Chief Guests. Region Chairperson Lion Nilantha Peries, Region 7 Chairperson Lion Dayapala Pathirage, and Zone Chairperson Lion J. P. Manathunga were also present. As part of the initiative, a stall umbrella and chairs were donated to a woman entrepreneur to encourage self-employment and support her business activities, contributing positively to her livelihood and independence.

The Lions Club of Ballanthudawa Royal Ladies conducted the project “Hands for the Future” on 6th January 2026 at Gungamuwa Primary School, Bandaragama, under the Global Cause of Youth, as part of the local school development initiative “Akurata Saviyak.” This project focused on strengthening educational resources through the donation of books to the school library. A total of 19 Lion members, including 9 members from the host club, actively participated. The event was honored by the presence of District Governor Lion Priyantha Perera and District First Lady Lion Dushanthi Gomez as Chief Guests. Region Chairperson Lion Nilantha Peries, Region 7 Chairperson Lion Dayapala Pathirage, and Zone Chairperson Lion J. P. Manathunga also attended. Story books, exercise books, unique notebooks, and other learning materials were donated to enrich students’ learning facilities. This grand project successfully supported multiple Lions Club objectives while investing in the future of young learners.

This vibrant and child-centered initiative aimed at motivating young students through creative and educational engagement. A total of 19 Lion members, including 9 members from the host club, actively participated in the program. The event was honored by the presence of District Governor Lion Priyantha Perera and District First Lady Lion Dushanthi Gomez as Chief Guests. Region Chairperson Lion Nilantha Peries, Region 7 Chairperson Lion Dayapala Pathirage, and Zone Chairperson Lion J. P. Manathunga also attended to grace the occasion. The children were entertained with interactive lectures, dances, songs, and were gifted to encourage enthusiasm and creativity. Kelaniya Ayurvedic camp

The Lions Club of Ballanthudawa Royal Ladies conducted the Kelaniya Ayurvedic Camp on 15th December 2025 at the Snake Poison Medical Hospital, Polhena, Kelaniya, under the Global Cause of Health, focusing on medical camps and assistance (“Suwa Diviyata Sitha Saviyak”). The outreach program provided Ayurvedic consultations, poison treatment, eye camps with free spectacles, beauty camps, and medicine donations. Six Lion members participated, guided by Club Advisor Lion Thusitha Aushadarathna. The camp was sponsored by Subasetha Newspaper and graced by Chief Guest 1st Vice Governor Lion Sunethra Thanthiriwaththa. The initiative was well-received and reported in Subasetha Newspaper, reflecting the club’s commitment to community health and public service.

The Lions Club of Ballanthudawa Royal Ladies successfully conducted the project “Nourishing the Future with Knowledge” on 13th November 2025 at the Vidarshi Educational Center, Horana, under the Global Cause of Youth. This initiative was organized with the aim of empowering young minds by providing essential knowledge on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and introducing children to future technological developments that play a vital role in modern society. A total of six Lion members actively participated in planning and executing the program. The session was conducted in an engaging and child-friendly manner, combining informative discussions with creative and interactive activities to maintain students’ interest and enthusiasm. The children showed great excitement and curiosity throughout the program and actively took part in all activities. The Lions Club of Ballanthudawa Royal Ladies successfully carried out the humanitarian project titled “Caring for Elders” on 14th November 2025 at Panangala West Primary School. This project was conducted under the global cause of Other Humanitarian Services, with a local focus on medical camps and medical assistance under the theme “Suwa Diwiyata Sinha Sawiyak,” while also falling under the sub-category of other humanitarian activities such as the donation of rations. Five Lion members actively participated in the project, which was organized alongside a fellowship trip and gathering aimed at strengthening the unity, dedication, and spirit of Lionism among members while reinforcing their commitment to serving the community. During the project, elderly beneficiaries were provided with essential commodities, household equipment, and necessary supplies to support their daily living and wellbeing.
