The Club held a successful community service project at the Udugampala Temple, distributing fresh vegetable packs and essential nourishment bags to 15 underprivileged pregnant women. This impactful initiative was chaired by newly joined lion member Lion Lazan, marking a stellar debut for his first major project since joining the club. The event was honored by the presence of Region Chairperson Lion Sarath, alongside Cabinet Officers Lion Anil, Lion Sadewa, Lion Priyanka, and four dedicated club members. Their presence highlighted our club's strong commitment to supporting vital maternal health and uplifting vulnerable families in our local community.

DIABETES PREVENTION

Our club successfully conducted a vital diabetes screening program for 35 underprivileged individuals in our community. We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Samarasinghe and two dedicated nurses for their expert care and selflessness. Heartfelt thanks to Project Chairperson and Cabinet Officer Lion Anil for generously sponsoring the glucometer machine and test strips. Breakfast and Lunch for Elderly Low-Income Beneficiaries

The Lions Club of Piliyandala organized a community service project to provide refreshments and meals to elderly low-income beneficiaries who visited the Piliyandala Post Office to collect their monthly government allowance. Each beneficiary was served a fish bun and a cup of tea for breakfast. In addition, a parcel of rice and curry was provided to take home and enjoy later. The project was warmly appreciated by the beneficiaries and reflected the club's commitment to serving the elderly and supporting vulnerable members of the community.

Donated Rs 50000.00 cash to Teaching Hospital Nagoda Kalutara through "prarthana Sahana society" for lighting of Oncology ward side garden. This garden was landscaped by the lions club of Horana in year 2024/2025 under leadership of president lion Indika Padmakumara parallel to handing over the newly established Oncology ward. Donated Rs 250000.00 cash to Oncology unit cancer patients medicine Fund at Teaching Hospital Nagoda Kalutara (prarthana Sahana society)on 10.08.2026. This Oncology (cancer) Ward was established in year 2024/2025 under leadership of president lion Indika Padmakumara.this is the only Oncology ward conducting in Kalutara District. Participation-lions 4 L/L 1 non Lions 3 This Donation was made under commitment given through Future site forum . Thanking letter was issued 01.09.2026 by the Prarthana Sahana society.

Conducted an essential Children's Eye Care and Vision Awareness Program** [PART 1]**

Conducted an essential Children's Eye Care and Vision Awareness Program at Sevenagala Maha Vidyalaya, Sevenagala. The initiative successfully educated nearly 450 participants, including students, teachers, and parents, on preventing vision deterioration and managing Computer Vision Syndrome caused by excessive screen time. Key topics highlighted the impact of digital devices on myopia, hand-eye coordination, sleep patterns, eye strain, and mental health. Emphasizing that 80% of a child’s early learning happens visually, the program stressed early detection and proper eye care to safeguard children’s academic performance and future well-being.

Lions District 306 D2 successfully hosted the "Lions Sing Along and Party Night with Chandimal" on August 29, 2026, at the BMICH Sapphire Banquet Hall to raise funds for cataract surgeries for the needy. Food Donation for Children Battling Cancer A food donation project was organized to provide nutritious refreshments, including yoghurt, watermelon, chocolates and drinking water, to children receiving care at the Indra Cancer Trust.
