Under this project 8 students were paid monthly payment of Rs 2000.00 per student. This funds sponsored by members of the club. All payments are being made same day.

Dhamma School Literary Competetion .

Project Chairman : Nandika Perera

Literature competition to enhance the literary knowledge of Dhamma school students. On August 2, 2026, the Arawwala Lions Club and Arawwala Leo Club jointly organized an event to brief the students of Sri Indra Sara Dhamma School (Gonapola, Korala-ima) about the upcoming literature competition; details regarding the contests were explained, and application forms were distributed to every student. ✳️ Plans are in place to evaluate the students' creative works and subsequently award prizes and certificates. It is a project by Lion Nandika Perera MAF ,Lion Dilini Perera, and Leo Vidusha Perera

Distributing Dengue Awareness Leaflets

On July 29, 2026, leaflets were distributed to the residents of Korala Ima, Gonapola, raising awareness about measures to prevent the breeding of dengue mosquitoes and protect against the disease. This initiative was led by Lion Dilini Perera of the Arawwala Lions Club and Lion Vidusha Perera, President of the Arawwala Leo Club.

Community Service Project by Arrawala Lions Club – Lions District 306 D2 On 4 July 2026, a special community service project was conducted by the Arrawala Lions Club of Lions District 306 D2. The President of the Arrawala Lions Club, Lion Nandika Perera MJF, Lion Dilini Perera, and the President of the Arrawala Leo Club, Leo Vidusha Perera, provided a dinner for the children with special needs at Camilla School, Mattegoda. As a gesture of appreciation and support, cash gifts were also presented to the staff members who take care of these children with dedication and compassion. The event was attended by members of the Arrawala Lions Club, including Cabinet Officer Lion Gaman Kithsiri, District Women’s Committee Member Lion Bhashini Senadheera, Region 2 Secretary and Secretary of the Arrawala Lions Club, Lion Rajeeva Heenatigala. The daughters of Lion Dilini Perera, Vinushi Perera and Venushi Perera, also participated in this meaningful community service activity

HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS

Under the guidance of Region Chairperson Lion Sarath, our club successfully executed a meaningful service initiative focused on compassion and sustainable livelihood. Senior Lion member Lion Anil Chandraratna stepped forward to save two cows directly from a butcher shop, preventing their imminent slaughter. Demonstrating true Lions spirit, Lion Anil subsequently donated both cows to an underprivileged individual in our community. This noble gesture not only preserved lives but also provided a sustainable source of income, empowering the recipient to build a better livelihood.
