Donation for Girls inner wear..

A program to provide underwear to the girls of St. Sebastian's Girls' School in Dehiwala was organized by the Dehiwala Legend Lions Club. The Kalubowila Lions Club in Colombo also provided financial assistance for this. Lion Shamani, a member of our Lions Club, was involved in this program. There are over 800 girls in that school.

The Mental Wellness Program organized by the Boralesgamuwa Lions Club was held at the Dehiwala Shastra Nanda College. The resources were provided by Lion Shamani Dias, a member of our Lions Club and a Diploma holder in Psychology and Counseling. About fifty Students in grades 10 and 11 participated.

The October step of the project to provide 600 liters of clean drinking water to the MICU Unit of the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital in Colombo every month was carried out on the 28th, with the full support and leadership of our Lions Club Treasurer Sinha Mahinda. Our Lions Club members Sinha Meegolla and Sinha Shamani participated in this.

220 low-income children participated in the Children's Day program and were provided with school bags and books. Providing breakfast and lunch to nearly 300 children who participated in the Children's Day program. District Governor Lion Priyantha Perera PMJF & lion dushanthi gomes, Lion mathunga, lion dj dasanayaka, lion somathilaka, lion chithra, lion manjula, lion chamila, lion janaki, lion nilushini, participated in this program.

Under the theme “Akurata Saviyak” The President of the Lions Club of Arawwala, Lion Prasadith Padmakumara (LCIF District Coordinator – Akurata Saviyak Project), together with Lion Chandrika Wijesooriya as Co-Project Chairperson, organized a special awareness program in the Balangoda – Waligepola area for students from six schools in the region. The program focused on Ven. Piyarathana Thero also delivered an inspiring speech on the Value of Education and Knowledge for students from six schools in the region.

World Mental Health Day 2025 ???????? ❤“Healthy Mind, Happy Life”❤ Lions of Colombo Havelock Town, Wellawatte West, Hiripitiya, and Colombo Wings joined hands to commemorate World Mental Health Day by organizing an inspiring Mental Health Awareness Session for students and parents of Vidyathilake Vidyalaya, Jawatta, together with lecturers from Sumithrayo.❤????????❤❤ The Chief Guest was District Governor Lion Priyantha Perera PMJF of Lions District 306 D-2, accompanied by First Lady Dushyanthi. Also present were Lion Heshini Siriwardena – District GST Coordinator & Region Chairperson Region 01, Lion Nimesh Perera, Club Presidents Lion Mitabi Gunawardena and Lion Padmi Fernando, and Lions Rohitha, Manel, and Dinusha.❤???????? It was a truly interactive and impactful session. Governor appreciated the efforts and discussed more future school-based mental health projects with Sumithrayo.❤❤❤

World's Children Day Celebration

The World Children’s Day Celebration organized by the Children’s Resource Centre, Nagaswatta, in collaboration with the Lions Clubs of Wellawatte West, Colombo 06 Cosmopolitan, Wellawatte Legends, and Colombo Wings, was successfully held on 1st October 2025 at the Children’s Resource Centre, Kirulapone. The programme featured art and handwriting competitions, cultural performances, and recreational activities for underprivileged children. All partnering clubs contributed gifts and refreshments, ensuring the successful completion of the project and bringing joy to the participating children.

On behalf of the world environment clean up date , The Cleanup Sri Lanka Project, organized by the Lions Club of Colombo Wings in collaboration with Lions Club 306D2 Region 01, was successfully held on 20th September 2025 at Wellawatte Beach. The project saw enthusiastic participation from Lions members across the region, who came together in the true spirit of service to restore cleanliness and promote environmental awareness. Through their collective effort, the team contributed to creating a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable beach environment. The event was a remarkable success, demonstrating the unity, dedication, and environmental responsibility of the Lions community in working towards a cleaner and greener Sri Lanka.
