In line with the Global Cause of Environment, a speech competition was organized at Kotelawala Vidyalaya with the participation of 75 students, ranging from Grade 3 to senior levels. This initiative aimed to create awareness and inspire young minds to actively engage in environmental protection and sustainable practices. Educating children on environmental issues is vital, as they are the future stewards of the planet. By nurturing awareness from an early age, students develop responsible attitudes towards nature, including conservation, waste reduction, and eco-friendly living. As they progress through their education, this foundation enables them to think critically and take leadership in addressing environmental challenges. Speech as a medium is highly effective in developing confidence, communication skills, and leadership qualities among students. It encourages participants to research, organize their thoughts, and express ideas persuasively. |
