Tree Planting programme

about 25 plants of Ayurveda such as Kohoba, sandalwood and permanent trees like, Mee Maara, jack fruit, and other fruits such as guava, rabutang, soever orange, nelli were planted with the assistance of the Agriculture unit teachers and students along with our Club members in the premises around the school. The ground preparations were already done by the students and after planting, fertilizer and watering was done. It is supposed to be maintained by the Agriculture unit of the school also as a main project of this unit.

Conducted a awareness programme for VTA students for Public speaking ability. 400 youth Participated to the event. District Governor lion Priyantha Perera participated as chief guest. 11 lions and 9 non Lions participated to the project. Project cost Rs 30000.00

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, the Lions Club of Arawwala proudly carried out two impactful Tree Planting Projects in 01st July 2025: 01st July 2025 – Yahampath Mawatha, Maharagama Project: "Build a Cleaner, Greener Tomorrow" Led by Project Chairpersons Lion E.A. Sriyani Chandrika and Lion E.G.P. Padmakumara, this initiative brought together club members and the local community in a successful tree plantation campaign to promote environmental awareness and contribute to a healthier ecosystem. The project was honored by the presence Cabinet Officers Leo Club Members of Arawwala reflect our ongoing mission to protect nature and inspire future generations through action and leadership. ???????????? Tree Planting and Tree Care

We successfully launched a Tree Planting Project at Ananda Samarakoon College – Wewala, where 50 trees were planted within the school premises. Each tree has been assigned to a student, who will take individual responsibility for nurturing and caring for it over a three-year period. An annual review will be conducted to assess the progress and health of each tree. As part of the motivation and recognition plan, students will receive tokens of appreciation each year based on their commitment and the condition of their assigned tree.
