The Lions Club of Ballanthudawa Royal Ladies conducted the project “Eradicating Hunger” on 6th January 2026 at Gungamuwa Primary School, Bandaragama, under the Global Cause of Hunger. This meaningful initiative aimed to address nutritional needs and promote child well-being through food support. A total of 19 Lion members participated in the project, including 9 members from the host club, making it a strong collaborative effort. The event was honored by the presence of District Governor Lion Priyantha Perera and District First Lady Lion Dushanthi Gomez as Chief Guests. Region Chairperson Lion Nilantha Peries, Region 7 Chairperson Lion Dayapala Pathirage, and Zone Chairperson Lion J. P. Manathunga also attended. All students of the school were provided with nutritious, hygienically prepared meals cooked domestically with proper health care. This grand project successfully fulfilled multiple Lions Club objectives while making a positive impact on the lives of schoolchildren.
