Under the theme “Akurata Saviyak” The President of the Lions Club of Arawwala, Lion Prasadith Padmakumara (LCIF District Coordinator – Akurata Saviyak Project), together with Lion Chandrika Wijesooriya as Co-Project Chairperson, organized a special awareness program in the Balangoda – Waligepola area for students from six schools in the region. The program focused on discipline and prevention of drug abuse. Guest speakers included: Mr. P.V. Tushara, Island-wide Peace Judge andarea for students from six schools in the region. Project Title: Providing Drinking Water to the Thirsty Wild Animals in Yala National Park Project Chairperson: Lion Ginthota Project Description: Due to the severe dry weather conditions experienced recently in the Yala National Park, the Lions Club successfully carried out a service project to provide drinking water to the thirsty wild animals within the park. Date: 05th September 2025 Venue: Yala National Forest Park Contribution: Water Bowser – 1 Total Water Volume – 15,000 Liters Impact: Through this water donation initiative, the Lions Club made a remarkable contribution toward protecting the lives of elephants, deer, leopards, and various other animals in Yala National Park, while also supporting the conservation of the natural environment.
