There is a critical shortage of organs for transplants and a continuous need for human bodies for medical research and the training of future doctors in Sri Lanka. The Lions Club of Millaniya (Golden Jubilee) undertook this project to educate the community on the legal and ethical aspects of donation and to provide a platform for willing donors to register officially.

The Lions Club of Millaniya (Golden Jubilee) has successfully completed the "Identity Loop" for the local elderly. By providing both Birth Certificates and now Elder Identity Cards, the club has secured the social and financial dignity of our senior citizens. 1. Project Overview Project Title: "Identity for All" – Documentation Assistance Program Target Group: Individuals in the Millaniya area without birth certificates or with unregistered births. Key Partners: The Divisional Secretary (DS), Assistant Divisional Secretary, and the Additional District Registrar. Status: Successfully Completed. 2. The Challenge Many residents in rural or underprivileged sections of Millaniya have lived for years without a legal birth certificate. This is often due to: Home births that were never registered. Loss of documents during floods or natural disasters. Financial and logistical difficulties in traveling to the Divisional Secretariat multiple times. 3. Implementation & Process The Lions Club acted as the bridge between the government and the people. WESTERN MEDICAL CLINIC & DIAGNOSTIC SCREENING

In alignment with the Lions Club International’s focus on health and wellness, the Lions Club of Millaniya organized a Western Medical Clinic. The project aimed to identify non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and provide immediate medical intervention and hospital referrals for the local community. Clinical Services & Diagnostic Testing The clinic focused on the "Silent Killers" of the modern age. Every participant underwent a structured screening process: Diabetes Screening: Random Blood Sugar (RBS) tests to identify diabetic and pre-diabetic patients. Cholesterol Testing: Lipid profile checks for those at risk of cardiovascular issues. Blood Pressure (BP) Monitoring: Systematic screening for hypertension. General Consultation: Diagnosis and treatment for common ailments (fever, respiratory infections, skin conditions, and minor injuries).
