The Lions Club of Piliyandala learned that the wife of popular artist Mr. Dinesh Bogoda was seriously ill with a heart condition and that doctors had recommended a major heart operation to save her life.
The estimated cost of the operation was approximately Rs. 1.8 million (18 lakhs). Unfortunately, the family was facing considerable financial difficulties in finding such a large sum of money at short notice to proceed with the necessary medical treatment.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation and the family’s distress, Lion Ranjan Handugoda of the Lions Club of Piliyandala generously donated Rs. 25,000 to support the family in meeting the medical expenses.
This compassionate gesture reflects the true spirit of Lionism, demonstrating kindness, generosity, and a commitment to helping those in need during difficult times.
