In line with the Global Cause of Environment, a special awareness initiative was conducted at Kotelawala Vidyalaya, engaging around 100 students from Grade 6 to senior levels through an essay-writing program. The activity was designed to educate and inspire young minds on the importance of environmental protection and sustainable living.
Educating children on environmental issues is essential, as they are the future custodians of the planet. Introducing these concepts from a young age helps build responsible habits such as reducing waste, conserving resources, and protecting nature. As students grow, their understanding deepens, enabling them to think critically about global environmental challenges and become active contributors to solutions.
The participation of 100 students reflects strong interest and commitment towards environmental stewardship. Winners of the competition will be recognised and awarded.
