1. Project Background Agricultural productivity in Millaniya Village relies heavily on an efficient irrigation network. Over time, the canal adjacent to the local paddy fields had suffered from structural deterioration and siltation, obstructing the smooth flow of water to the crops. Recognising the challenges faced by the local farming community, the Lions Club of Millaniya Golden Jubilee initiated a restructuring project to restore the canal’s functionality. 2. Financial Contribution This essential infrastructure project was made possible through the personal philanthropy of Lion Rasika Dilan Alwis. Total Donation Amount: LKR 103,500 3. Scope of Work The funds were utilized for the following structural improvements: Desilting & Clearing: Removal of accumulated soil, weeds, and debris to expand the canal's capacity. Side-Wall Strengthening: Reinforcing vulnerable sections of the canal banks to prevent future erosion and soil collapse into the waterway. Flow Regulation: Adjusting
