President Lion Eng. Jayavilal Meegoda of Lions Club of Polgasowita and International Fair Director conducted an awareness on national and international invention and research competitions for the students of grade 6 to 11 at Kotelawala Maha Vidyalaya, Piliyandala. The session was attended by 100 students and teachers.
The presentation focused on the importance of innovation, research, creativity, and problem solving for school students. He explained the pathways available for Sri Lankan young inventors to participate in global competitions through the national selection process. A highly interactive Question and Answer session was held, and the participation and enthusiasm of the students and teachers were very satisfactory.
The session also included detailed explanations of the national and international competitions affiliated with the programme. The national competition is the Sri Lanka Science and Engineering Fair, conducted annually to identify and select talented young inventors.
