Antenatal Medical Clinic for Expectant Mothers
A special medical clinic for expectant mothers was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Jithmal Meegoda, Registrar in Gynecology at the Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya, together with Dr. Swarna Meegoda, Senior Medical Officer attached to the Teaching Hospital, Colombo South. This meaningful initiative was organized in keeping with the core values of Lionism — selfless service, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to community well-being.
Adding prestige and inspiration to the event was the gracious participation of Lion Sunethra Thantiriwatta, MJF, MAF, 1st District Vice Governor, who served as the Chief Guest, and Lion Palitha Wijegunarathna, MJF, JP, 2nd District Vice Governor, who attended as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries delivered valuable and inspiring addresses to the Lions of Polgasowita and the expectant mothers, highlighting the importance of maternal health and family support.
