Awareness Session for Pregnant Mothers – Antenatal Care
An awareness session on Antenatal Care for Pregnant Mothers was successfully conducted at the Ambalangoda Temple, in collaboration with the Ambalangoda Elders’ Society, as part of the Lions’ ongoing commitment to maternal and child health.
The programme was facilitated by Dr. Jithmal Meegoda, Registrar in Gynaecology at the Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya, with the active involvement of the Public Health Midwife (PHM) of the area. This initiative reflected the true spirit of Lionism — selfless service, compassion, and care for the well-being of the community, especially for mothers and children who represent the future of society.
Adding prestige and inspiration to the event was the gracious participation of Lion Sunethra Thantiriwatta, MJF, MAF, 1st District Vice Governor, and Lion Palitha Wijegunarathna, MJF, JP, 2nd District Vice Governor.
