On 30 November 2025, we donated dry rations, sanitary items, bottled water, and clothing to those affected by the landslide in Udaththawa village, Hasalaka, Mahiyanganaya. On the 27th, a massive landslide in the area claimed the lives of more than 30 people, including family members of the Chief Monk of our temple. An entire village was destroyed by the landslide. Udaththawa village remains in deep sorrow. Rescue teams are still searching for bodies buried under the earth. Post-mortems and final rites are being carried out as the bodies are recovered. Pamunupura Junior School, Hasalaka—where we had planned to conduct our project on December 20—has now been converted into a common place to keep the remains of those who lost their lives. Fortunately, no children of the school were harmed by the landslide. Today, we took part in the funeral rites of the Chief Monk’s family members from our village temple, and provided the above donations to the displaced families. Once the situation r
