In line with World Children’s Day – 1st October
Students of Siripathi Vidyalaya, Ambalangoda were educated on Disaster Preparedness, focusing on the importance of awareness, early warning, safe evacuation, preventive actions and responsible behaviour during emergencies.
To commemorate World Children’s Day, a Speech Contest was conducted where students presented their ideas, solutions and reflections on how communities — especially children — should prepare for disasters and protect lives and property.
This activity helped to develop public speaking skills, confidence, analytical thinking and communication ability among students while also strengthening their understanding of disaster readiness.
