As a key initiative under the District Governor’s prestigious “Akurata Saviyak” program, an Educational Arts Competition on Disaster Prevention and Preparedness was conducted at Siripathi Vidyalaya, Ambalangoda, to mark World Children’s Day (1st October) by tLions club of Polgasowita.
Students from Grade 1 to Grade 13 enthusiastically participated, creating drawings, posters and creative art to express: causes of natural and man-made disasters, importance of early warning,
safe evacuation steps, preventive measures to protect lives and property
The project helped enhance the knowledge of children on disaster preparedness and built awareness about protecting themselves and their families.
The best submissions were selected, and winners will be rewarded with:

This initiative supports the national vision of creating a well-informed younger generation who can act responsibly during emergency situations.
