On 9th July 2025, under the heartfelt initiative of Lion Sumith Fernando of the Lions Club of Kesbewa, the Zero Hunger Project was carried out at the Salena Alvis Elders’ Home, bringing warmth, care, and compassion to 60 resident mothers.
The project aimed to spread love and kindness through the simple yet powerful act of sharing a meal. Nutritious food was served with great respect and affection to the elders, many of whom live away from their families. This thoughtful initiative not only fulfilled a physical need but also touched the emotional hearts of those who have dedicated their lives to nurturing others.
