August – Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month
To commemorate this important month, an eye screening camp was organized at Dharmasena Balika Vidyalaya, where around 400 students were screened. Thirty students identified with vision impairments were provided with spectacles free of charge. The camp was generously sponsored by Lion Jayantha Abeygunarathna, Chairman of George Gunarathna Optometrists. District Governor Lion Priyantha Perera and the First Lady graced the occasion as Chief Guests, adding significance to this meaningful service activity.
