On September 5, 2024, from 9.00am to 12.30pm, the Lions Club of Galle Legends conducted a special meal donation project at Galle Hiyare East Junior College, led by Project Chairperson Lion A. V. Udeshana Deshapriya. A total of Rs. 81,482 was spent—Rs. 74,482 on food and Rs. 7,000 for a cook. Meals were served to 245 students and the full teaching staff, with 6 Lions participating. Ice cream was also distributed as a special treat. The project aimed to support students in a low-income area by providing nutritious meals, bringing joy and satisfaction to all involved. The school staff and children expressed heartfelt thanks to the Lions Club and praised the Lion Vision. For many students, this rare experience became a memorable day, highlighting the success of the club’s efforts to relieve hunger and uplift the community.
